Theater Class Descriptions


Child Musical Theater Production

This program is open to all children ages 6 – 13, who have the desire to share the stage with fellow child performers. These classes are designed to introduce children into the world of musical theater performance through a twice a week 10 month long class that culminates in a fully produced performance of a musical production in the spring. Classes are taught by teachers with backgrounds in musical theater, opera, dance and performance.

Child/Teen Triple Threat Class

In our Teen Musical Theatre class, students apply our proven approach and tools to musical theatre material. The focus is on script analysis, how to break down lyrics, find the story of their song, as well as listening to and giving constructive feedback to classmates. This class includes basic instruction in dance, vocal and acting. A focus is on audition technique for musical theatre performances.



Acting Technique

Through improvisation, script analysis and the study of monologue materials, students are introduced to the fundamentals of performance. Special emphasis is placed on interpretation and translation of the dramatic script as the basis for exploration of characterization, motivation and transition.

Dance for Theater

Our theater dance classes are sure to capture the heart of anyone interested in the performing arts. In this course, students learn strong technique in jazz fundamentals as well as choreography derived from various Broadway styles. Teachers lead students through a center warm up including stretches, isolations, and core strengthening. This is followed by across the floor technique and choreography.
