In ‘Combo’ classes, dancers have the opportunity to take an hour class that is divided with two genres of dance. Combo classes include Ballet/Tap, Jazz/Lyrical, and Hip Hop/Acro. Dancers learn the basics of these styles here before moving on to focus on one genre at the next level.
In level classes, dancers have a full hour to focus on one style of dance. Each class starts with a warm up, proceeds to progressions or movements that travel across the room, and then work on choreography which is the final product of combining the technique from the warm-up with the skills learned during progressions.
This style of dance is the foundation of all dance forms. We strongly encourage ballet classes for all our students who really want to learn this craft, as well as it is required for all company members.
Tap is a fun genre that focuses on musicality, rhythm, and sounds.
Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.
Using a combination of Ballet and Jazz techniques, Lyrical encourages dancers to use their emotions and moods to tell a story through dance.
Hip hop is a very energetic form of dancing that has become popular today through music videos and television shows.
Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that abandons the rigid, centered aspect of classical forms of dance. It utilizes unconventional movements from styles around the world. It incorporates certain elements of ballet, moderns dance and jazz.
